There’s so much to be grateful for this year – especially the return of local in-person performances for theatre, music, festivals, and so much more! While the past two years have been difficult – for artists in particular – our loss has made us that much more excited to see our favorite art and be once again with the people we love. The Perkinson Center is excited to present Snow Maiden by Synetic Theater! In a frozen silver world, a man wakes up and builds a woman from snow. Celebrate the holidays with Art Works. It’s Black Friday and the Centre gallery has been transformed into a Made in RVA Holiday Shop. The 4th Friday art shows’ reception begins with The Mix—a display of mixed media, collage and assemblage by local artists and current and vintage works by Chuck Scalin and collage works by Mim Golub. The annual Small Works exhibit and George Tisdale’s H2Oh My are also featured this month. No registration required for this free event.
5. THE NATIONAL NATIVE AMERICAN VETERANS MEMORIAL

Despite a legacy of broken treaties, cultural suppression, and racial discrimination, Indians have served this country in every conflict and more Indians continue to serve in the U.S. military than any other ethnic group. Join the Virginia War Memorial as they bring Dr. Herman J. Viola, a curator emeritus at the Smithsonian Institution, and Harvey Pratt, the designer of the memorial as they discuss the new memorial, its creation, and what it means.
