Fortepianist Daniel Adam Maltz visits Virginia Commonwealth University
Daniel Adam Maltz is a fortepianist based in Vienna, Austria. He will be in residence at Virginia Commonwealth University this week presenting concerts, lectures and master classes.
The Viennese fortepiano is the instrument that Mozart and Beethoven both played on and composed for. It's quite different than the piano that we know today. Daniel is devoted to performing on the fortepiano, utilizing its vast range of tones and colors.
In our short chat, Daniel talks about the fortepiano, his podcast "Classical Cake," and the various performances and lectures he will present this week in Richmond.
