Grammy-nominated composer Peter Boyer is one of the most frequently performed American orchestral composers today. VPM's Mike Goldberg talks with him about a new release "Balance of Power," which includes commissions for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the inauguration of President Joe Biden.

Emmy-winning composer Jeff Beal is well known for his work in film and television, but has also written many works for the concert hall. He's recently released "The Paper Lined Shack," featuring a new work for soprano and orchestra to celebrate Leonard Slatkin's 50 years with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
