Virginia Opera is back in town, presenting Gaetano Donizetti's comic opera "The Elixir of Love." The characters "develop before our very eyes in a most touching love story" and the opera contains one of the most famous tenor arias, "Ua furtiva lagrima." Kyle Lang is directing (his third production with Virginia Opera) and Adam Turner (Artistic Director) is conducting.
Performances are in the Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center tonight (Friday) at 8:00 and Sunday afternoon at 2:30. I had the pleasure of spending some time with the two stars of the show, Cecilia Violetta López (Adina) and Carlos Enrique Santelli (Nemorino). Enjoy our chat!
