Recently on my afternoon classical show, I had the opportunity to host an ensemble of local musicians that have put together a "new" Handel opera, “Minerva.” The new company, titled “Into the Woods Productions,” is led by local singer Gabrielle Maes. This show was put together by father and son, Raphael (libretto) and Niccolo (original music) Seligmann.
The opera is being produced at First English Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monument Avenue. It opened last week, but performances continue through this weekend. Listen in as I chat with the creators and they perform a selection from the opera for us.
