COVID Activities

Local health officials are changing where vaccination clinics are set up in effort to reach residents who have yet to get the shot. It’s an effort launched to meet President Biden’s goal of getting 70% of the population vaccinated by July 4th.
  • In the midst of uncertainty and change, VPM is here for the parents and caregivers of preschool-age children. Below you’ll find a list of unique activities intended to help engage and foster young, curious minds. They also provide an opportunity to strengthen adult/child connections, relieve stress, and remind children that they are loved and supported, now and always.

Children might find it difficult to understand what they are seeing and hearing online and on the news. With these resources, you can help your child understand the virus and process their feelings.
  • Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed from September 15 to October 15, by reading about the histories, cultures and contributions of Latino Americans. These titles tell the stories of famous Latinos whose legacies we continue to celebrate and discuss.
  • A couple of weeks ago, I let my five-year-old son stay up late to watch a big game on TV with the family. Sometime around 8pm, the mixture of excitement and exhaustion overwhelmed his system. He lost it.
