Two VPM PBS documentaries are set to premiere at the 32nd Annual Virginia Film Festival, taking place in Charlottesville on October 23-27. In addition to the films, VPM PBS will offer a family-friendly experience featuring one of the most beloved characters from the colorful world of “Sesame Street.”

A co-production of VPM and 19RED, the original productions division of Fuel Creative, Inc., “The Art Scene” highlights unique personalities and organizations comprising Virginia’s art scene. Over the course of 13 episodes, the series will offer an inside look at local theatres, galleries, studios, concert halls and arts education groups.

Locally-produced, Emmy Award-winning “Virginia Currents” kicks off its 29th season October 3 at 8:00 p.m. on VPM PBS. Hosted by award-winning journalist Amy Lacey, the series profiles people and organizations making a difference in communities across Virginia.
