The Symphony Series continues this weekend in the Carpenter Theatre, with performances Saturday evening (3/22) at 8pm and Sunday afternoon (3/23) at 3pm. Music Director Valentina Peleggi will lead the program, which features Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony No. 35 ("Haffner") and the Symphony No. 4 by Gustav Mahler. The program opens with a new work by Virginia-based composer Joe Jaxson. "Born In the Iron Grip" was inspired by tennis great Arthur Ashe and his win at Wimbledon in 1975.

I recently sat down with Valentina and Joe to discuss this weekend's program on "An Hour with the Richmond Symphony." Be sure to join us each Friday afternoon at 5pm and Sunday evening at 7pm for our weekly show, which features past performances and upcoming concert previews.

Yours in good music,
