Join TFTB for our signature show “Hot Leftovers!”

Henry Cook and I hope you will join us on Time For The Blues this Saturday night, November 26th, at 9:00 for one of our signature shows, “Hot Leftovers!” This is the show we do after the Thanksgiving holiday that features great music that we haven’t had a chance to play until now.

You see, sometimes an album might have four or five great songs and we only have time to play two or three. What do we do with the ones we want to share but don’t have time to? We gather them up and have them like we do with the leftover turkey and dressing.

It’s a great time and you are invited to this blues smorgasbord.

I’ll just run down some of the artists we have this week.

There’s the J. Geils Band – who play some wicked blues along with their rock tracks.

We’ve got the man many people think is the next big blues thing, the Grammy-winning Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and guitar slinger Tinsley Ellis.

There’s Al Kooper with Blues Project and The Lovin’ Spoonful from the What’s Skakin’ sessions. You won’t want to miss these guys.

We’re just getting started. We’ve got the Legendary Blues Band along with Creedence Clearwater Revival and Steppenwolf with a Willie Dixon classic.

Speaking of classics, how about that so unusual gal, Cyndi Lauper with her take on a Big Bill Broonzy number?

Then there’s The Mojo Men. Who are they, you might ask. Stick around, it’ll be worth your while.

We’ll close out with three of our favorites: Charlie Musselwhite, The Yardbirds, and the one and only Koko Taylor!

So grab a plate and pile it high with leftovers, we’ve got hot hot music for you that’ll burn all those extra calories right off. All in all, it’s a great show and we would love to have you join us for the fun if you care to join us at 9:00 this Saturday night. That’s November 26th, and you can find us on one of these great VPM Stations: 89.1 WCNV, Heathsville; 90.1 WMVE, Chase City; and the flagships, 93.1 and 107.3 VPM-Music and 88.9 HD2, Richmond, and streaming online at VPM.org where it’s always Time For The Blues!
