JAMinc Presents: Seldom Scene

The Seldom Scene band
JAMinc

This edition of JAMinc Presents features Washington DC’s groundbreaking band the Seldom Scene, famously hatched in Ben Eldridge’s Bethesda Maryland basement in 1971 during a weekly poker game. Ben along with John Starling, John Duffey, Mike Auldridge and Tom Gray boldly borrowed from genres well beyond traditional bluegrass boundaries and created a sound that has seen them through a half century of success and adulation all over the world. They were 2014 inductees into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame and the band has endured through a dedicated cast of new members over the years who have maintained their signature sound and sense of adventure. This Richmond appearance marked the debut of guitarist/lead vocalist Clay Hess who recently succeeded beloved frontman Dudley Connell. Clay joins veteran bandmates Fred Travers, Lou Reid, Ronnie Simpkins and Ron Stewart as JAMinc Presents the latest evolution of the Seldom Scene recorded live at the Tin Pan on February 2nd 2025.
